Description

You learned the basics of milling in the Intro to Woodworking class, now step into the land of layout and joinery. Over two days, each student will turn a rough board straight from the lumber yard into a beautiful box with a sliding lid. Develop new skills in layout, how to look at project drawings, and making cut lists. Use familiar tools like the jointer, planer, and table saw, as well as new tools like the router table, bandsaw, DADO stack, and brad nailer. We will also talk about the all-important topic of wood movement and how to account for it in your project design. Finally, we'll explore surface preparation and options for finishing. At the end of this class, you will have the skills to start working on larger projects such as furniture.

All tools and materials are included. Class is limited to eight students. Masks required.

Class time is 7 hours per day, including a lunch break.

Prerequisite
This workshop requires Intro to Woodworking as a prerequisite. If you think you already have the knowledge and experience you need for this class, please email hello@alliedwoodshop.com for an exemption.
