In this Intro to Woodworking class, we welcome all women, trans, non-binary people of all ages, races, and ethnicities are encouraged to participate.
How does wood become furniture? Join this introductory workshop and find out! In this class we show you the function and safe use of the most common tools for furniture making. You will use the table saw, bandsaw, jointer, planer, and drill press to make a beautiful hardwood cutting board. Instructors will discuss how to select material, orient grain for a pleasing aesthetic, mill wood, and choose a proper finish. This is an excellent introductory class for anyone curious about woodworking.
All materials and supplies are included. Class is limited to eight students.
Please note, it is critical that students arrive on time. We cannot allow students who have missed instruction to join the class late. This is a serious safety concern, and we appreciate your understanding.
