Allied Woodshop is a fully functional woodshop on the 10th floor of a 1925 Beaux Arts building in Downtown Los Angeles. The shop features a well-equipped machine room (1,500 sq ft), an adjoining bench room (1,500 sq ft), and an additional bench room (1,400 sq ft) across the hallway. The industrial space has 14’ ceilings, abundant natural light, and views looking west toward the DTLA skyline.

Our building, the Allied Crafts Building, has been the location for many films to include, Hill Street Blues, The Invisible Man, Night Shift, Castle, The Triangle Factory Fire Scandal, and Demolition Man. There are two adjacent alleys, a loading dock, a freight elevator, two passenger elevators, and more than six parking lots within a two-block radius.

Allied Woodshop is available for film shoots. Because we have to close our shop to the people who make their living working here, we unfortunately cannot offer the shop for free or to those on a very limited budget. Thanks for your understanding!

If you’re interested in renting the shop, please download our rate sheet and contact to arrange a shop visit.
