Building on the introductory turning class, Turning I: Spindles, this class will cover the entire process of turning a bowl and you will gain a further understanding of faceplate turning and advanced bowl gouge skills. We'll start by preparing the stock from a block of wood, learn safe mounting procedures, outside bowl shaping, inside hollowing, sanding, and finishing. You will be able to leave the class with the skills needed to safely turn a bowl on your own.

All tools and materials are included. Total class time is 4 hours and limited to one student.

Prerequisite
This workshop requires that students first take Turning I: Spindles. This prerequisite class teaches the safe use and function of the lathe and other turning tools and the basic turning techniques. If you think you already have these skills and knowledge, please email hello@alliedwoodshop.com.

What to Wear
Please wear comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. Boots or sneakers are fine and long pants are preferable. Do not wear loose or baggy clothing and please tie back long hair. No dangly jewelry. Please note, this is a woodshop with no AC. You can expect to get sweaty and dusty. Woodworking is hard work!

Refund and Transfer Policy
Private classes can be refunded up to one month in advance of the class, minus a $50 registration fee. We require two week's advance notice to reschedule a private class, and we are only able to accommodate one change request. There are no refunds or rescheduling for private classes that are scheduled and not attended.
