Description

This introductory turning class teaches students the safe use and function of the lathe and other turning tools. Each student will learn the process of turning a spindle and will make either a carver's mallet, rolling pin, honey dippers or a candlestick holder. 

After taking this class, students can continue on to Turning II: Bowls.

All tools and materials are included. Total class time is 4 hours and limited to one student.

Getting Here
Allied Woodshop moved! All classes are held at 4160 Whiteside Street, Los Angeles, CA 90063. Free parking on site and additional free street parking available.
 

What to Wear
Please wear comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. Boots or sneakers are fine and long pants are preferable. Do not wear loose or baggy clothing and please tie back long hair. No dangly jewelry. Please note, this is a woodshop with no AC. You can expect to get sweaty and dusty. Woodworking is hard work!

Gift Certificates
Gift certificates are available. If you would like to gift this class, purchase Woodworking Bucks for the total cost of the class. 

Refund and Transfer Policy
Private classes can be refunded up to one month in advance of the class, minus a $50 registration fee. We require two week's advance notice to reschedule a private class, and we are only able to accommodate one change request. There are no refunds or rescheduling for private classes that are scheduled and not attended. Please email hello@alliedwoodshop.com to schedule private classes, request a change in scheduled classes, or request a refund.
