Young people love to engage their brains and work with their hands, and this class allows them to do just that. Students will use machines and hand tools to create a stool using wedged mortise & tenon joinery. They’ll use a tenon cutter and bandsaw to cut joinery, the drill press and a jig to drill mortises for the legs, and a hand plane to shape the legs. We’ll wrap-up the day with sanding and finishing.  

This workshop is appropriate for ages 10 and up. Class is limited to two students and total instruction time is 4 hours.

All materials and tools are included.

What to Wear
Please wear comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. Boots or sneakers are fine and long pants are preferable. Do not wear loose or baggy clothing and please tie back long hair. No dangly jewelry. Please note, this is a woodshop with no AC. You can expect to get sweaty and dusty. Woodworking is hard work!

Refund and Transfer Policy
Private instruction can be refunded up to three months after purchase, minus a $50 registration fee, if it has not already been scheduled or completed. We require one week's advance notice to reschedule any previously scheduled hours, and we are only able to accommodate one change request. There are no refunds or rescheduling for private instruction hours that are scheduled and not attended.
