Lisa has a diverse background ranging from fine art and photography to a full-time career in local government. She studied photography in San Francisco and also Latin American Studies at Cal State Los Angeles.
Although her path led her to a career in local government, she always had a love for art, woodworking in particular. In 2020, she had an opportunity to explore this interest and participated in an apprenticeship program called the Gateway Program. During her apprenticeship, she discovered her love for woodturning and wood carving.
She is a part-time resident and dedicates her weekends to her craft. She plans to focus on taking more classes to sharpen her skills and explore her interest in traditional furniture. She hopes to one day be able to have a career as a full-time woodworker.
