This sharpening course will cover sharpening and regrinding of all tools used in our turning classes, Turning I: Spindles and Turning II: Bowls. You'll learn how to use the Oneway Wolverine Vari-Grind jig on a low-speed bench grinder, understand the difference between gouges and the relationship to grind angles, and practice sharpening the roughing gouge, parting tool, and spindle and bowl gouges to an Irish Grind*.
All tools are provided and we can also recommend which tools to purchase if you wish to bring your own. It is required for students to bring their own tools if solely taking this class without taking our Turning I: Spindles or Turning II: Bowls classes.
*If you'd like to learn the Irish Grind, it is required that you bring your own bowl gouge(s).
Total class time is 2 hours and limited to one student.
