Description

Sharp tools make everything better. There's nothing like carving through wood with a sharp chisel, or getting a see-through beautiful shaving with your hand plane. Join us after work for a mid-week pick-me-up where you can connect with your fellow woodworkers and hand tool enthusiasts.

Learn the basics of hand tool sharpening with water stones and sandpaper.
Students bring their own chisels or block plane iron to sharpen during class, new or used. Bring your own water stones, or use wet/dry sandpaper provided in class. Stone grits recommended: 220 for flattening, 1000 for sharpening, 3000 for polishing. Single grit or dual sided. Students may also bring a honing guide and a strop if they have them.

Allied Woodshop is located at 4160 Whiteside Street, Los Angeles, CA 90063. Free parking on site and additional free street parking available.
